My Rick Ross- Deeper than Rap -Album review

I want to start by saying, Even though he "beef" with 50 and I wanted him to lose. I didn't let that effect me listening to his album (well, tried to). So I've been beating myself up listening to this album. I can't make a complete overall judgement on it, But I can do individual songs. I know for a fact that its not a classic. I wouldn't say it was by my standards. If classic albums had standards to reach I don't think it would reach them standards either. (I listen to this album more than three time fully) so here we go!!!!

Mafia Music
The beat is sick! He went in on this track. the only thing is, what he said about 50 didn't make sense to me. Could of came up with something better to say

Maybach Music 2
If they would of name this song something else it might of sounded hotter. Any expectation of Maybach Music (After Jay-z) the song BETTER sound better! overall, good song but expected more out of it! (I.E. Kanye West) Everybody else sound like I expected. (Lil Wayne Saying nothing, Ross doing the usual)

Magnificent
Hot Single. You got to ride to this. Lyrics are there. John Legend did his thing!

Yacht Club
One of them songs that didn't grab and never will grab my attention

Usual Suspect
Even though Ross is nice with his lyrics, he tighten up on this one. At first, I was like how Nas is going to be on this one. then I really listen to it and said why not!

All I Really Want
Hate this shit! Fuck Dream! No grown man suppose to sound like that! that shit is annoying!

Rich Off Cocaine
Nice song! You only can really ride to it if you don't remember its Rick Ross Rapping!

Lay Back
This is a good track! Robin Thicke killed it! You can really rewind this track and play it again!

Murda Mami
This is a song that they could of left off the album! Not hot! Bonnie and Clyde!? really!? Fuck outta here!

Gunplay
Again, If you forget who is rapping it might sound better. lyrics are there, but there's something missing that make it not hot!....its aiight....nm, its not hot!

Bossy Lady
This song is nice! Ne-Yo come thru and do his 1-2! like Always!

Valley of Death
I don't think what he's talking bout goes with the song. He's just rapping! Beat nice. Fuck him for talking bout Trick like that!

In Cold Blood
At the end of the Album, he put In Cold Blood. The Song is nice. If Rick Ross was a Ghostwriter for a new artist this shit would be hot. Beat is a classic! His vision is cloudy. Overall, 50 won....but Ross don't believe that!

Disappointed!!!

With all of this hype, I was hoping to see Rick Ross (the artist) graduation video. Everybody going back and forth. Thats what I really wanted to see.

As much as I liked Rick Ross last album (sidebar: can't really listen to it now that this "beef" is going on) I really thought that it was going to be an upset with Rick Ross album sale. They are saying that he might get up to 150,000 Copies first week! I know Def Jam will buy most of them to keep what they invested in afloat! I was looking forward to the low sell in units of this album. Even though Rick Ross might sell 150,000 (with def Jam help) he still doing to same number he did last album with all this so called beef aka promotion!

I feel bad for Bow Wow! I think Mike Jones is going to follow behind Bow Wow!

Rick Ross- Deeper than Rap!

Yesterday Rick Ross Album had came out. I Listen to it, Fully, Three times. Not sure if I like yet. I mean, I still don't have a favorite song on it. Overall, the album is missing the anticipation of the album. I should say its meaning the "Boss" Element. When Rick Ross Say Maybach Music You think of something that is kind of like Riding music. Something that have substance while you chill or do whatever. When you think about what "Deeper than rap" mean. You not sure because it could mean alot of things to different people. So when you say its deeper than rap. People are waiting on your to explain what you mean. This album didn't do that for me. Even though it wasn't on every songs I feel like it could of done better without all the 50 cents shots. He had a vision, but it ended up cloudy! the one good thing I can say is the best verse on the album was Nas on "usual suspects"

I can't really say why I feel this way. Trilla was a great album! No classic, but great album! I think if would of focus on the album and not trying to keep his image intact. He should of never came out Mafia Music. Forget the whole coming at 50 cents thing. If it was all about making music He should of never dropped Mafia music. He got the attention he wanted. The question is, is it the right attention? Or should I ask, Do you think it would help him with his sells?
